Founded in 1982, the Second Harvest Food Bank of Wisconsin distributes food products to more than 1,000 pantries, meal programs and nonprofit agencies that serve over 200,000 people in Wisconsin. It operates a distribution center that offers nearly 10 million pound of food. The bank distributes food to various soup kitchens. The Second Harvest Food Bank of Wisconsin also accepts donations of food and money from individuals. It accepts dry nonperishable products, canned soups, fresh green beans and frozen items. In addition, the bank provides cleaning supplies, paper products and personal care items. It also offers preorder and technical assistance services. The Second Harvest Food Bank of Wisconsin maintains a location in Milwaukee.
