Industrial, packaging and pressure sensitive papers are among Thilmany Papers' products. The company's industrial paper products include building and construction papers, interleaving papers, one-time carbonizing and paint masking. Grease resistant papers, larminating and coating bases, medical papers and waxing bases are among Thilmany's packaging paper offerings. The company's pressure sensitive paper products include coating bases, hygiene bases gumming and supercalendered release liners. Thilmany was founded in 1883 as Thilmany Pulp and Paper Company and operated independently until it was acquired by Hammermill in 1969. Wisconsin-based Thilmany Papers' Kaukauna and Nicolet paper mills and the Thilmany Packaging converting operation at the Kaukauna mill operated as part of International Paper's Industrial Papers Business until June 2005, when the business was acquired by Kohlberg & Company. The parent company is a private equity firm based in Mount Kisco, N.Y. Thilmany Papers has a location in De Pere, Wis.
