Established in 1991, The Wisconsin ChalleNGe Academy is a program for troubled youths between the ages of 16 and 18. The academy offers a 22-week-long residential program that is equivalent to a high school diploma. It provides cadets with the opportunities to put together a Post-Residential Action Plan (PRAP) with the help of staff members. The academy also provides a 12-month program where cadets can pursue post-secondary education or join the military, as well as other jobs. Its residential program includes training in the development of academic, job and leadership skills, as well as physical fitness and health and hygiene education. The Wisconsin National Guard Challenge Academy is located in Fort McCoy, Wis.
