Established in 1888, the Salem International University is located in Salem, W.Va., and spread over 300 acre in the mountains of West Virginia. Formerly known as the Salem College, the campus also offers housing and traditional campus clubs and activities. It is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. The college offers two- and four-year degree programs in a variety of fields, including computer science, biology, criminal justice, business, education and liberal arts. It offers various student resources, such as a library, in-campus store and a several student support services. Its student support services provides various specialized services, including personal counseling, career planning assistance, cultural and personal enrichment activities, career counseling and workshops and academic counseling. The career workshops offered include reducing mathematics anxiety, interview skills, creating a resume, preparing and writing a research paper, test on taking skills, writing essays and reducing stress. The Salem International University also offers online education for working adults.
