The County Administrator s Office is responsible for executing policies established by the administration board and mandated by the state of Virginia. It prepares and administers budgets and supervises the functions of other departments. The office handles personnel administration, including the hiring and removal of staff and employee performance, as well as the review of proposed personnel actions and interpretation of policies. The County Administrator s Office oversees the functions of the public safety department to manage the planning, coordination and implementation of emergency operations. It is a part of the County of Alleghany in Virginia. The County of Alleghany also maintains fire, economic development and public works departments.
