Appalachian Crossroads
Appalachian Crossroads, also known as the Appalachian Parent Association, is a private, nonprofit agency that serves individuals with physical and developmental disabilities. Founded in 1979, the agency serves more than 100 adults and senior citizens in Garrett County in Maryland. It offers a range of evaluation, employment, socialization and transportation services. Appalachian Crossroads also provides day habilitation, sheltered work, supported employment, and family and individual support programs. The agency has expertise in advocacy, referral and respite care services. In addition, it offers leisure-oriented day programs that include activities for promoting the well-being of retired individuals. Appalachian Crossroads organizes karate classes, concerts, and camping and hunting events.
