HistoryJim and Dorris started this kennel together in 2004 because of their love for and experience with dogs. Dorris was in 4h club, was a dog handler, and taught Kennel management and grooming at Purdy Women's Prison for 6 years before starting the kennel. Jim has been breeding German Shepherds with his brother since they were 14 and has been caring for dogs ever since. It was always a dream of Dorris' to open her own kennel. They bought the kennel in April of 2004 and after 6 months of remodeling opened Von Vinzant Kennels. They continue to treat every dog that visits as family.SpecialtiesWe love dogs and have created a paradise for them to stay in while you're away. We offer 3 separate buildings creating individual spaces for each dog and every dog during their stay has their own door out to their own personal runs. With the owner living on site, Jim himself makes sure the dogs get out at least 4 times a day to run around and do their business at no extra cost. At Von Vinzant we treat your pet like family.
