History
Whole Child Learning Center began with the director's vision and the help of many dedicated families who believed in creating a compassionate and educationally rich learning environment for all involved; our children, the teachers and the parents. Time has proven that it really does take a caring and conscious community to raise a healthy and thriving child, especially when our day feels long and we find ourselves tired at the end of it. So, after more then fourteen years our vision continues to help children and families grow into thoughtful and productive individuals who understand that we are all connected and can choose to share our gifts and talents with one another. However big or small, strange or familiar, we know we can make a difference when we work together. Maria Stobie Founder and Director of WCLC
Specialties
Whole Child Learning Center is a four hour in-home Montessori/Reggio Emillia Preschool on Queen Anne Hill, established in 2000. Our philosophy is a holistic approach to education in which we create the opportunity for our children to develop to their fullest potentials as healthy and resilient individuals. It really does take a Village; Parents, children, teachers and a thriving community to create a space that honors a child's balance of mind and heart, body and spirit. Children enroll from ages 2.5 to 5 years, encouraging healthy development of empathy, social & emotional interaction and academic mastery of preschool skills. We have 15-20 students and four gifted teachers each day. WCLC has a Children's Garden, an Annual Family Picnic, daily potty learning assistance and Kindergarten transition guidance for all our students and families. We dance, sing, create and share acts of kindness with our friends everyday, making WCLC a wonderful place for joyful learning!
