Close to I-5, right off 84th Street, is Wards Lake Park. This park offers a pond with a fishing pier, a playground, a picnic shelter, a trail system and seasonal (Labor Day to Memorial Day) restrooms. Keep an eye out for the enterance, as one can very easy pass it by on such a busy street.
Wards Lake Park is a diamond in the rough. The lake/pond is home to ducks, geese and a small fishing pier for those fisherman in training. The playground area is clean and inviting, and there is even a picnic shelter next to the playground and lake so that parents can easily watch their children play while relaxing under the shelter. Upon first arrival, this park seems rather small, but it has trails that encircle the lake and a nice-sized grassy area for picnics or playing outdoor sports.
