Through its operating companies, Vulcan builds museums and makes original motion pictures. It launches businesses and creates new industries. Vulcan develops technology, virtual learning programs and communities it lives and works in by improving the way people live, learn, do business, and experience the world. Vulcan conducts and oversees scientific initiative and technological research intended to improve the way people live. Vulcan developed SpaceShipOne, the first privately built spacecraft to enter suborbital space. Vulcan is headquartered in Seattle.
