Founded in 1990, University Of Washington Tacoma provides educational services and learning opportunities to the students of South Puget Sound region and offers various junior and senior years of bachelor s and master s degree programs. The university enrolls more than 2,000 students and operates various departments, including Milgard School of Business, education, institute of technology, interdisciplinary arts and sciences, nursing, social work, and urban studies. Its interdisciplinary arts and sciences division provides courses, such as American studies, arts, media and culture, communication, environmental studies, ethnic, gender and labor studies, general and global studies, political economy, politics and values, psychology, and self and society. The university has a full-service library that offers research materials, resources by subject, electronic journals, reference tools and class guides for students. Located in Tacoma, Wash., it additionally provides a full range of individual counseling, career planning and placement assistance, and disabled student services.
