History
L.G. Steck Memorial Clinic is a professional service corporation. Incorporated in 1977, it does business as The Steck Medical Group. In 1927, Lester Glenn Steck, M.D., a graduate of Loma Linda University, opened an office in Chehalis, Washington, for the practice of medicine and surgery. He practiced as a solo practitioner for a number of years, and during that time he established a reputation for quality medical care. In 1936, Dr. Steck recruited an associate, Dr. Mollerus Couperus, who remained with Dr. Steck until the war year of 1940. During that period, Dr. Steck purchased property at 1037 Market Street in Chehalis and remodeled the residence into medical offices. This was to remain the location of Dr. Steck's medical practice for almost forty years. At various times and for varying periods of time, other physicians joined Dr. Steck as associates. The Steck Medical Group, in 1988, opened Woodland Urgent Care Center (WUCC) which is open 365 days per year at its Chehalis campus.
