The Sounds Thrifty Shop sits on Edmonds' waterfront overlooking the Puget Sound. From the outside, the shop would be easy to miss as it is located at the end of the Edmonds Senior Center and while there isn't a lot of signage, there is a lot of foot traffic.
At first glance, the shop looks small and overcrowded but further investigation reveals this not to be the case as row upon carefully organized row shows itself.
A unique feature of this shop is that everyone working here is a volunteer and everyone is a senior citizen at least 55 years old and usually older. Another unique feature is that the Sounds Thrifty Shop is the biggest financial contributor for the Edmonds Senior Center. A last point of interest, unsold merchandise is recycled or passed on to another charity so nothing is ever thrown away.
A friendly, knowledgeable staff and broad product selection make for an intriguing treasure hunt.
