ISSAQUAH DANCE THEATRE is the largest facility on the Eastside offering an extensive ballet program and the highest quality of training in jazz, lyrical, contemporary, modern, hip hop, musical theater, hip hop and tap for children and adults. We are committed to progressive artistic and psychological growth within each student and excellent age appropriate technical training, challenging the bodies and minds of our students in a positive and encouraging environment. Our school and amazing faculty provide a unique and positive training ground for the pre professional or recreational student, learning life skills through the discipline of dance. IDT is the official home of the Eastside Youth Dance Theatre, a non profit collaborative organization formed to offer our community an annual "Nutcracker" and various productions to include young dancers from all over the Seattle area and professional guest artists. IDT AXiS Dance Company is our performance team consisting of students ages 6 and up who perform at numerous competitions, dance conventions and other performance venues throughout the year and intensely study multiple dance disciplines. Young Artists For Humanity is for young people to find their voices as active citizens and artists, and how the two roles can intersect. In order to facilitate a deeper understanding of how one can affect the world, participants will combine volunteerism and creativity. The group will research, discuss and decide to collaborate with one or several volunteer organizations that support such causes as: underprivileged youth, the environment, ending hunger, and animal adoption centers. In response to these experiences, students will create choreography that communicates how they have been affected by volunteering, and how they feel about their roles as citizens in the world. Lastly, complimenting our love of health and movement, is our affiliate business; ISSAQUAH MASSAGE AND INTEGRATIVE MOVEMENT ARTS offering a full massage center 'menu' and GYROTONIC conditioning for dancers, athletes and individuals of any body type or fitness capability. We offer spacious waiting areas, four large sprung floor studios to ensure the safety of our dancers, an in house performance space, three therapy rooms, a body mind conditioning studio, dressing room, restrooms, offices, and a dance shoppe to take care of all your dance attire and dress code needs. We also offer discounted wellness services to all families and students including massage, bodywork, chiropractic, fitness and more.
