Refugee Women's Alliance, located in Seattle, is a nonprofit, multi-ethnic organization that works for the inclusion, independence, personal leadership and strong communities. The organization provides refugee and immigrant women and families with cultural and linguistic appropriate services in the Puget Sound area in Washington. The organization provides a range of programs, such as developmental disabilities, domestic violence, early childhood education, youth, family support, parent education, and educational and vocational. The developmental disability program empowers families and supports their needs to become fully participating members of the community. Its family advocates provide individualized family needs assessments and assist families with resources and support services. The support services include the Department of Health and Human Services-Division of Developmental Disabilities, respite care and Medicaid personal care, social security administration, and special education programs through public schools, legal services and health care providers.
