A Family Owned Business The Halvorson family has been in the helicopter business since 1965. In 1992, Elling Halvorson and Lon Halvorson formed Rainier Helicopter Logging, Inc We had success logging with a fleet of Huey's, a Bell 214B, and a KAMAN K-1200 KMAX. When the bottom fell out of the timber market, we rapidly restructured Rainier and began looking internationally for work. In 1998, we changed our name to Rainier Heli-Lift, Inc to fit our new mission. As the company continued to grow, so did the request for aircraft leasing. We pursued this business and currently have over 16 aircraft on lease and continue to operate the K-MAX for fire fighting and power line construction. In 2009 Rainier changed its name to Rainier Heli International to better reflect its global leasing business. Because we are a family owned and operated company, we are able to make decisions and act quickly on a transaction. In addition, Rainier has access to the Halvorson aircraft fleet owned by other entities which includes over 80 aircraft ranging from a Bell L-1 C30P to a Eurocopter Super Puma AS332L1.
