Peninsula Yacht Basin opened in 1947. It is located next to Anthony's Restaurant and just a mile from Downtown Gig Harbor. The marina offers permanent moorage for about 100 boats. It has both concrete and wooden docks. Its uncovered slips range from 25 to 70 feet, while its covered slips are 36 to 45 feet. It is owned by Jerald Harbaugh, who is also a Gig Harbor resident and a member of the Gig Harbor Yacht Club. The workers at the marina know the boaters on a first-name basis. The marina keeps itself busy during the summer especially during Memorial Day, Independence Day and Labor Day. Peninsula Yacht Basin serves as a reciprocal moorage for the Yacht Club members.
The marina has a keypad-operated gate and video surveillance system. It also has a bathroom and a shower for the boaters. Open fire cooking is not permitted. Underground parking is available for the boaters across the street from the marina.
