Pacific Northwest Research Institute, also known as PNRI, is a biomedical and clinical research facility that focuses on the prevention and cure of diabetes and cancer. It employs more than 70 researchers in over 5 investigative teams. The institute conducts research in tumor immunology, autoimmune diseases, metabolic signal transduction pathways and oxidative stress. It also participates in pancreatic islet transplantation research programs. The institute s work is supported by several government and private funding agencies, including the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and the American Diabetes Association. Additionally, the institute publishes a periodical newsletter that features health-related articles and medical innovations. Pacific Northwest Research Institute is located in Seattle.
