Northern Fruit Company was founded by Roy Tedford in 1928. The company began as a cash fruit buyer operating out of a three-story warehouse in Wenatchee, Wash. Northern Fruit Company packs more than a million boxes of apples and over 300,000 boxes of cherries every year. The company manages orchards in Chelan, Quincy, East Wenatchee and Mattawa, Wash. The company also owns controlled atmosphere storage facilities at its plant in East Wenatchee and Mattawa. Northern's sales staff also handles marketing for its products. Northern Fruit Company has two divisions, including Witte Orchards and Bardin Farms. Northern Fruit Company grows and ships apples and cherries in Washington, and supplies a full range of varieties to domestic and export customers year-round.
