Since its establishment in 1977, NCSCorp has been actively involved in the debt buying industry. The company, under its previous name Credit Union Services, began to purchase accounts from the National Credit Union Administration, which was in the process of liquidating troubled credit unions throughout the United States. In the late 1980s, the company directed its efforts in obtaining additional sources from which to purchase debt. The new sources established were the FDIC, banks, brokers and direct credit grantors. Throughout its dealings with these debt sellers, NCSCorp has undertaken a tripartite role as a debt buyer, debt seller and debt recovery agency for its own account through use of its in-house collection department, as well as through outsourcing with other collection agencies on a national basis. Since 1995, the company has purchased nearly $1.2 billion in gross loans. NCSCorp is located in Longview, Wash.
