Natural Resources Conservation Service, governed by the United States Department of Agriculture, is a federal agency that collaborates with the citizens of Texas for improving and protecting soil, water and other natural resources. It provides assistance with the maintenance of natural resources in rural, suburban, urban and developing areas. The agency specializes in the area of soil conservation, rangeland management, agronomy, geology and forestry. Natural Resources Conservation Service also offers technical assistance to city planners, watershed groups, civic organizations, and state and local government entities. Its conservation stewardship program encourages producers for addressing resource concerns by improving, maintaining and managing existing conservation activities. In addition, the agency develops computer-generated narratives on various conservation issues.
