History
Mountain View Martial Arts and Fitness History The Beginnings Mountain View Taekwon Do was founded in 1993 by Master David Mason when he decided to open his own school. He had been teaching throughout the Northwest under several different formats and decided it was time to provide his students with a unifying name and consistent location. The Reason Behind the Name Master Mason polled his students to come up with a name for the school and several suggestions were offered. The name Mountain View came to the top of the list for several reasons. Master Mason had been teaching in several locations but always in the Portland/ Vancouver area and in plain view of Mt Hood. Master Mason knew that the school's location could change throughout his lifetime but that he would always be in the Northwest area and that the location of the school would always have a view of Mt. Hood. This is how the name ? Mountain View Taekwon Do? came to be. History of School Locations and Dates Downtown
