Mission Creek Corrections Center for Women, founded in 2005, is a minimum-custody facility that offers basic education classes and vocational certificates in information technology through Tacoma Community College. The facility provides job hunter, healthy relationship, and stress and anger management programs. Mission Creek Corrections Center for Women also offers employment opportunities in food service, maintenance and ground keeping. The facility organizes seminars related to career planning and family communication. It provides outpatient and relapse prevention therapy programs for offenders with drug-related convictions. In addition, the facility offers the Girl Scout Beyond Bars Program. Mission Creek Corrections Center for Women is a part of the Department of Corrections, which is governed by Washington State.
