With the opening of the new PEAK (Providing and Empowering Activities for Kids) facility in August 2010, the Mercer Island Boys & Girls Club reinforced its status as one of the community's leading youth organizations.
Services and facilities include:
- a multi-sport fieldhouse
- sports leagues and clinics
- teen center
- computer learning labs
- infant and child care centers
- music studio and performance theatre
- outdoor play structure
PEAK is also home to two preschools: the school district's preschool program, four days a week; and the Cooperative Preschool, run by Bellevue College (contact the college for more information).
The club has long been known for running many of the island's youth sports teams, including Little League baseball and softball. In addition, numerous opportunities are available for camping excursions and experience learning. Youth service programs, such as the Keystone and Torch Club, encourage older children to give back through service to the community.
