Founded in 1869, Lowell Elementary School offers a range of educational programs to more than 400 students in kindergarten through grade five. Its academic curriculum includes language arts, English, mathematics, science and social studies. The school offers before- and after-school programs. It also operates a parent-teacher association that conducts several fundraising events and programs. The school maintains a library and media center that features a collection of books and reference and instructional materials. In addition, it organizes a variety of events, including book fairs and school carnivals. Located in Tacoma, Wash., Lowell Elementary School is a part of the Tacoma Public Schools, which serves over 28,000 students in kindergarten through grade 12.
