HistoryHow it all began. Land Title and Escrow Company was founded on April 3, 1940, with 25 original shareholders, many of whom were involved in the local farming community. Currently, approximately 65% of our stockholders are heirs of those original 25. In fact, each stockholder can trace his/her history at some time to someone who lived in or worked in either Skagit or Island counties. Originally called Mount Vernon Abstract & Title Co., Inc., we had one office in Mount Vernon with a title plant for both Skagit and Island counties. We took the name of Land Title and Escrow Company in 1958 when we physically opened an office in Oak Harbor and separated the title plants with Skagit County's plant located in Mount Vernon and Island County's plant located in Oak Harbor.SpecialtiesLand Title & Escrow, where local service is our passion.
