Lakewood Fire District 2 was founded in 1940. Currently, the district protects approximately 22 square miles including the City of Lakewood. It is a fire district funded separately from the city.
It provides numerous services to our community including fire suppression, emergency medicine and transport, technical rescue, hazardous incidents, fire prevention, inspections and fire and life safety education.
Lakewood Fire District 2 has 156 total personnel, with 115 of them being uniformed and 22 personnel assigned to the Fire Communications center. Professional firefighters respond from five fire stations located throughout the district. The district receives approximately 10,000 calls for service each year, responding from five fully-staffed fire stations.
