Founded in 1972, KEXP is a noncommercial, music radio station that is supported by contributions from listeners. It airs music of various genres, including alternative rock, electronic, world, roots, jazz, hip hop and blues. KEXP operates at the frequency of 90.3 FM and is licensed by the University of Washington. Its programs include Variety Mix, Shake the Shack, Mind Over Matters and Street Sounds. The radio station also offers internship positions to students. The station features music by various artists and bands, such as Linkin Park, Chris Cornell, Led Zeppelin and U2. The radio station provides entertainment news, movie reviews and celebrity information. KEXP is based in Seattle.
