History
The Male Fertility Lab is a clinical andrology laboratory, providing tests for patients requiring infertility work-ups or sperm cryopreservation (freezing). This lab is a component of the Department of Urology at the University of Washington Medical Center. We are licensed to perform high complexity testing, and to produce, store, process, and distribute cryopreserved human sperm for insemination.
Specialties
Male fertility testing including: *Semen Analysis: sperm count, motility, morphology, white blood cells, and swim-out *Retrograde Urine: A semen analysis, plus examination of the urine to determine if semen and sperm are present in the bladder *Post Vasectomy Checks: checking the semen for any presence of sperm *Sperm Cryopreservation: can be done for an individual facing sterilization either from chemotherapy, surgery, or other treatments. Includes a Semen Analysis, as well as specialized attention to achieve the best possible freezing method for that patients reproductive needs. We can also freeze sperm for directed donors, individuals wishing to freeze sperm for IUI or IVF, or from a surgical procedure such as TESA.
