Michael Whittle is the head instructor. He has more than 50 years of experience. He has schools in Texas, Arizona and Spokane WA. The Spokane school began in 2006. We are a traditional Kajukenbo school emphasizing self-defense and physical fitness. Classes are small. There is a lot of attention to individual training.
Specialties
The Kajukenbo Self-Defense Institute originates in the Palama Settlement of Oahu Hawaii. It was the first self-defense system created in America by Americans. Kajukenbo is based on Asian martial arts, Hawaiian Lua and American boxing. Kajukenbo was created after World War II. It is a self-defense system created for the public. It is based on realistic defense strategies and techniques. All instructors in Spokane are senior certified black belts. This school is a member of KSDI, AKA, KOA and KSDS. These associations certify Kajukenbo instructors to maintain integrity.
