Sylvester Middle School is a part of Highline Public Schools and provides a strong academic program and diverse opportunities for growth and success in a safe, supportive environment to enable students to achieve their full potential and develop a vision for their future. The district serves the communities of Burien, Des Moines, Normandy Park, SeaTac, Boulevard Park and White Center in the state of Washington. Highline Public Schools participates in several programs that allow students to earn or recapture high school credits. These credits are then transferred to one of the district's high schools from which a student may graduate. It also provides extensive professional development opportunities for teachers in order to improve instruction and give struggling students extended opportunities for instruction after and during the school day.
