History
FCI is a family owned business that was started by Donald Bateman in 1971. We began working with police cars in 1976 as a leasing company. As Don's six sons got older, they started taking over more and more of the work that had previously been farmed out to other companies. By 1985, we had a full shop set up to outfit the cars we leased to various municipalities. In addition, we started rebuilding the lease returns and selling or leasing them to smaller departments. In 1990, Alan Bateman got more involved with the business and branched out to doing equipment installations for departments that bought their own cars. In 1993, Mike Bateman started working with Alan. In 2003, we built our new shop in North Bend. Although we are still a small business with just seven employees, we build an average of 230 fully equipped police cars per year. The bulk of our business is in the state of Washington, but we also do work for departments in Oregon, Idaho, Montana and Alaska.
