Stuth Company opened its doors for business in Washington State in 1962 as Stuth Ditching. The primary operation was the installation and repair of residential onsite sewage systems. By 1964, founder, William L. Stuth (Bill Stuth Sr. ) was designing septic systems and providing pump out services for septic tanks. In 1972, Stuth Company Inc, purchased and relocated the company to commercial property in Renton, Washington. We began manufacturing septic tanks and other concrete products. The company operated with two installing crews. In 1975, the company incorporated changing its name to Stuth Company Inc, Bill Stuth Jr., Senior's son, continued to work for his father, gain-ing knowledge, experience, and contacts within the industry. Bill Jr. attained his installer's license and operated his own installing crew. His involvement with the company allowed Bill Sr. to pursue research and development within the industry. Bill Stuth Sr. started a project for King County and the State of Washington Department of Health to study the advantages of compartmenting septic tanks while Bill Jr. continued to operate a crew and taking a more active role in the running of the company. This study became instrumental in the state changing from single compartment tanks to compartmented tanks. In 1984, Stuth Company Inc, relocated again, to more favorable site on the Maple Valley Highway which allowed more room for expansion and broadening of services. Bill Stuth Jr. had become proficient at installing, designing, repairing and pumping. Both Stuths shared an appreciation and strong interest in pumping, troubleshooting, repairing, and analyzing failed systems as well as gaining an understanding of new technologies. In 1985, Bill Stuth Sr. started a research program to study the reason for the very high rate of failures in commercial septic systems. Separately, there was a team formed to review and comment on the results of Bill's study. The study determined the two most probable reasons for failure were FOG (fat, oils and grease ) and shock loading. As a result of this study, Bill Stuth developed and patented the Nibbler Wastewater Treatment System. In 1986, Bill Sr. founded Aqua Test, Inc, a monitoring and maintenance company with an accredited wastewater testing laboratory. This company was formed in part to monitor and maintain the Nibblers and other on-site systems assuring that they meet prescribed standards and to augment, through testing, the investigation activities of both Stuths into the operation and failure of on-site sewage systems. Such a service had never been available to the public before. In 1994, Stuth Company Inc, sold its concrete manufacturing operation and pump out service. The move focused the activities of Stuth Company on the installation of complex commercial systems, residential systems, consulting opportunities, troubleshooting, and repairing of residential and commercial septic systems across the nation. In 1999, Bill Stuth Jr. purchased Stuth Company operations from his father. The move allowed Senior the opportunity to expand the installation of the patented treatment process and to further his involvement in the profession at a national level. Bill Stuth Jr. is a state licensed designer and licensed installer in most counties in Washington. He and his skilled crews have also installed systems in Oregon, California and Idaho. Bill Jr.'s primary focus is to provide high quality installations and premium service which meet the needs of both the customer and the environment.
