DuPont Family Vision opened in 2004 and became the first office in DuPont to provide quality health care services. We perform a thorough, comprehensive eye exam to determine what your needs are for the best possible vision, as well as testing for any kind of eye conditions, such as cataracts, glaucoma and macular degeneration. Our office is conveniently located for patients from both Pierce and Thurston counties. From I-5, take exit 118 (Center Drive). We are just one block East of Center Drive. We are just minutes away from Joint Base Lewis-McChord, and Patriots Landing. Most of our staff members have worked in Optometry and Ophthalmology practices for 10 or more years. Every one of our staff members takes the time to get to know our patients and understand the concerns they might have about their eyes and vision. Dr. David LeFevre earned his bachelors degree from the University of Washington in 1979, and his doctoral degree from Pacific University College of Optometry in 1983. For most of Dr. LeFevres career, he practiced in Olympia, up until he joined DuPont Family Vision in 2013. He has worked closely with many local ophthalmologists, retinal and other medical specialists for patients needing surgical or other advanced services. Your Eye Exam For children, the emphasis of their exam will be testing for proper vision development, eye alignment and amblyopia (lazy eye), as well as farsightedness, nearsightedness, and astigmatism. Patients of all ages are also checked for any sign of eye health issues ranging from conjunctivitis (pink eye) to glaucoma, cataracts and macular degeneration. Dr. LeFevre and his staff take the time to make sure that they answer any questions you have about your eyes or the eye exam. We welcome new and established patients. Feedback from Our Patients Love going here......everyone is knowledgeable, and efficient. I'm very impressed with the new equipment, selection as well as the thoroughness of my exam. Our 7 year-old son needed an eye exam after the school test suggested he was mildly near-sighted. The folks at DuPont Family Vision were wonderful! He was nervous and everyone went out of their way to make it a fun and positive experience. By the time he was choosing his frames, he was very excited about his new glasses and asked if we could come back again when he needed a check-up- the ultimate 'kiddo' compliment. Thrilled with our experience and highly recommend this clinic for anyone needing vision care for children.
