The Douglas County Sheriff's Office is a full-service law enforcement agency that employs a staff of more than 40 full- and part-time sworn and nonsworn officers. It operates a dispatch center that responds to emergency and nonemergency law enforcement, fire and emergency medical assistance calls. The Douglas County Sheriff's Office maintains a Special Response Team (SRT) that deals with high-risk and dangerous situations, including warrant arrests and explosive devices, as well as barricaded individuals and heavily armed criminals. The office also has an auxiliary crime prevention unit that is a volunteer, noncommissioned unit that serves in a support capacity, provides extra patrols in communities and residence checks while homeowners are away. The Douglas County Sheriff's Office is located in East Wenatchee, Wash.
