Diverse Harmony is the nation's first queer-straight alliance youth chorus, founded in Seattle in 2002. With a core group of singers aged 13 to 22 who identify as queer, gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, questioning, and allied, Diverse Harmony provides a safe and accepting space for youth to come together and make music. The chorus has grown over the years, performing in Seattle and on tours to various cities across the country, and now offers a new acapella choir called Spectrum Choir for ages 19 to 25.
Committed to celebrating differences and creating a world where everyone is accepted for who they are, Diverse Harmony uses the power of music to inspire and bring communities together. The chorus performs a wide range of genres, from contemporary pop to classical to Broadway, and puts on themed shows and stage musicals at the end of each season. With no membership fee or tuition required, Diverse Harmony welcomes singers of all musical abilities and provides a supportive environment for LGBTQ and BIPOC youth aged 10 to 18 and their families.
