Decatur High School, established in 1976, is a secondary school serving students in grades nine through 12. The school has an enrollment of more than 1,500 students and is a part of the Federal Way School District. It offers advanced placement courses in biology, calculus, English language and composition, English literature, French, physics, statistics, the United States History and world history. Its career and technical education program includes courses in American Sign Language interpreting, auto mechanics, business education, commercial photography, design technology, horticulture, marketing, sports medicine and woodworking. The school s mascot is golden gators and its colors are navy blue and gold. It provides various extracurricular activities, such as math club, newspaper, reach club, band, choir, orchestra, chess club, debate and yearbook. The school has athletic teams in basketball, soccer, wrestling and gymnastics. Decatur High School is located in Federal Way, Wash., and is accredited by the Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges.
