Cowlitz 2 Fire & Rescue provides fires and emergency medical services in the City of Kelso in Washington and other surrounding unincorporated areas. The department is administered by the government of Cowlitz County in Washington. It serves more than 30,000 citizens and covers an area of over 150 square miles. Established in 1947, Cowlitz 2 Fire & Rescue employs nearly 150 full-time and voluntary staff members. The department coordinates a range of fire prevention, education and other safety programs for homeowners and businesses. Its operations division is responsible for line staffing and apparatus placement and deployment. Cowlitz 2 Fire & Rescue also responds to vehicle accidents and water supply breakages.
