Headquartered in Olympia, Wash., The State Board for Community and Technical Colleges provides a state system of community and technical colleges. It assists in the development of policy agendas for the state board and coordinates the activities of the Trustees Association of Community and Technical Colleges. The board also assists the colleges in the areas of student services, diversity initiatives and human resource management. The State Board for Community and Technical Colleges prepares an operating and capital budget request to the governor and legislature and allocates funds received from the legislature to the community and technical colleges. It additionally manages the collection, preparation and reporting of college enrollment information to state and federal agencies and the college system.
