The Longview Pioneer Lions Club is a dedicated group of men and women who have been serving the Longview community and surrounding areas for nearly 100 years. With a common goal of improving the quality of life for their neighbors, the 170 members of the club come from diverse backgrounds and professions. They are known for their efforts in fighting blindness, but also volunteer for various community projects such as environmental care, hunger relief, support for seniors and the disabled, and providing scholarships to youth. One of their notable projects is the Walk 'n Knock Food Drive, which they initiated in 1981 and has now become the largest food drive in Southwest Washington. Additionally, the club organizes the Street of Screams, a Halloween event for children, and supports reading initiatives by visiting schools and providing free books to students.
