The Columbia River High School offers classes from grades nine through 12. It provides academic classes in English, math, science, social studies, technology and the arts. Its students develop a personal portfolio that represents a collection of information about the student s preferences, career interests and research, goals, achievements, academic skills attainment, school attendance, certifications, and school and community activities. Located in Vancouver, Wash., the school operates learning community program that focus on student portfolio development, mentoring and a student advisory program. The school also offers International Baccalaureate diploma, an honors program with an internationally designed curriculum in calculus, psychology, music and theory of knowledge. The Columbia River High school is a part of the Vancouver School District that serves more than 22,000 students in over 35 educational institutions.
