Founded in 1923, Camp Kirby is spread over an area of more than 45 acres on Samish Island in Skagit County in Washington. The camp organizes overnight and day camp sessions for children in grades 1 through 12. Its activities include swimming, canoeing, kayaking, archery, hiking, camping, out-of-camp trips, and arts and crafts. Camp Kirby offers a variety of programs, such as Beachcombers, Indian Village, Hi Tor, Tanika and Mua Mi. Its facilities include a commercial kitchen, sleeping cabins, lodges and rest rooms. Camp Kirby is owned and operated by Camp Fire USA - Samish Council, which is one of the local councils of Camp Fire USA. Camp Fire USA is one of the leading nonprofit youth development organizations in the United States.
