History
Burnt Bridge Cellars is a small artisan winery located in Vancouver, Washington. Owners David Smith and Mark Mahan began making wine together in 2008, bringing their dream of operating a winery to fruition in the fall 2010 with a 300 case harvest of Bordeaux and Rhone varietal fruit from the Columbia River AVA, primarily from the Walla Walla Valley and Sunnyside Valley. Our wines have won gold and silver at the largest international amateur wine competition, and Burnt Bridge Cellars just won a Gold Medal at the Seattle Wine Awards for our 2010 Viognier! In April we released our spring 2012 wines including our first four reds from the 2010 vintage.
Specialties
Burnt Bridge Cellars is named after a creek that runs through the heart of the town we call home. Located in downtown Vancouver, the winery began as an idea in a garage more than five years ago. Today, the garage is a little bigger, but the detailed, hands-on approach remains. Every wine from Burnt Bridge Cellars is made from hand-picked grapes. Every barrel is crafted from hand-selected oak. Every bottle is hand-filled, hand-corked and hand-labeled. Yes, we know there are easier and faster ways to make wine. But when you love wine as much as we do, we feel it deserves the extra attention. We hope you agree. Burnt Bridge Cellar wines pair perfectly with food and friends. Enjoy! Artisan wines made from the best grapes in Washington.
