Aztech Electric was founded in 1967 and incorporated in 1968 as an electrical line contractor. The founders are David Balch, an engineer employed by Washington Water Power, and Andrew Dahlman, a project manager employed by a local electrical contractor. Aztech was formed with Balch as president and Dahlman as operations manager. Aztech Electric's offices were originally located in Spokane, Wash., with a 2,000-square- foot office, a 5,000-square-foot warehouse and a 3,000-square-foot shop. However, in 1992 Aztech moved to a new are where its facilities include a 12,000-square-foot office, a 20,000-square-foot warehouse, a 5,000-square-foot tool storage and repair and a 7,000-square-foot vehicle repair situated on three and a half acres. In August of 1994, Aztech Electric also opened a Seattle area branch office in Bothell, Wash. That branch moved in December 2000 to Woodinville, Wash. Aztech has a staff of approximately 30 project managers, estimators and support staff.
