History
My world forever shifted in 2006 when I attended my first births with a Mayan Midwife in the hills overlooking Lago Atitlan, in Guatemala. I saw women dive deep into their labors, birthing their babies powerfully, many hours from the nearest hospital. It was the beginning of my lifelong fascination with women, our wombs, and reproductive health. For the next ten years I worked as a birth doula, and was honored to take part in more than 100 births. Later, my desire to bring healing to women led me to graduate school at the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and to become a Certified Massage Therapist and a practitioner of Maya Abdominal Therapy. For the past 4 years I've studied to become a Fertility Awareness Educator. I have learned Toni Weshler's method from Taking Charge of Your Fertility, the Justisse Method, and the Billings Ovulation Method. I am a member of the international Fertility Awareness Network, as well as the Society for Menstrual Cycle Research.
