Established in the 1960s, the Aldersgate United Methodist Church is located across the street from the Newport Way Library. Activities at the church include volunteering at homeless shelters, a choir, a Worship Team band, adult Bible study, Sunday schools for children and youth, Vacation Bible School and more. The church also has a preschool on its campus.
The church has two services on Sunday, each followed by a coffee social in the Friendship Hall. Both sermons are the same, but the worship style of the first service is modern, with a guitar and drums, and the worship style of the second service is more traditional, with an organ and choir.
