HistoryFairlea Farm was the site of the old Rappahannock County Fair grounds. Lea is Old English for meadow or pasture. Five thousand Union troops were encamped on our farm during the Civil War. Seventeen-year-old George Washington tramped through our fields when he surveyed the Town of Washington for Lord Fairfax. Our home was built with stones collected from local farms. Fairlea Farm is a working cattle and sheep farm. You'll love our friendly donkeys.SpecialtiesSusan and Walt Longyear have welcomed guests to Fairlea Farm B&B for 24 years. People return to Fairlea Farm because of Susan's delicious all-homemade breakfasts and her willingness to accommodate dietary restrictions.
