St. Andrew's Church also has a rich tradition of being a place for community gatherings. Established in 1951 with the merger of two small Episcopal Churches, over the years St. Andrew's has become a beautiful and spacious campus. Many groups enjoy using our church for meetings, classes, and events. Some of these are the bi-annual Kid's Stuff Sale, the Potomac Valley Watercolorists, the Wednesday Bridge Group, the bi-weekly Alzheimer's Caretakers Support Group, weekly Italian Language Classes, OCD Support Group, Arlington Artists Alliance, Girl Scout and Brownie troops, Art and Theatre camps for children, the OAR Christmas Gift Wrapping Party, and Maywood Homeowner's Association Board. We also host a number of our own community events such as our Fall Bazaar, Blessing of the Animals, Christmas Tree Sale, and dramatic readings and theatre/musical productions by the St. Andrew's Players. And we are most proud of our "Plot Against Hunger" vegetable garden, in which all of the produce harvested goes to the Arlington Food Assistance Center to help feed those who are hungry in Arlington. So who are we? We are a people on a journey and we invite you to come along. No matter what your age or background, you are invited to come and become part of this faith community. Come and see what God is doing in and through St. Andrew's Church. Come and see what transformation is all about. Come and see faith, hope and love at work.
