Benedictine College Preparatory
Benedictine High School was founded in 1911 by a group of Benedictine monks from Belmont Abbey in North Carolina. BHS, based in Richmond, Va., is a Catholic, military boys school that has an enrollment of more than 250 students in grades nine through 12. A variety of subjects are offered that include art, biology, economics, calculus, Latin, United States history, government, English, Spanish, French, social studies, mathematics, theology and robotics. Sports at BHS include football, soccer, cross-country, basketball, indoor track, wrestling, baseball, lacrosse, tennis, golf, swimming and track and field events. In addition to providing instruction on the organization and access of information in a library, students are instructed in the use of information technology, including the Internet, online catalogues, databases, search engines and text materials.
