The Prince William County Service Authority provides drinking water and water reclamation services to 70,000 accounts in one of the fastest growing counties in the United States. The Service Authority was created by a resolution of the board of county supervisors of Prince William County, Virginia, on January 11, 1983. It is chartered by the state corporation commission and is an independent public body responsible for providing a comprehensive countywide drinking water and water reclamation system. Prince William County is located 35 miles southwest of Washington, D.C., and is an integral part of the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area. The county is traversed by two major interstates providing access to the metropolitan area and surrounding jurisdictions. The Prince William County Service Authority is located in Woodbridge, Va.
